Paid Time Off (PTO) is a valued and needed benefit for employees to use at our discretion to maintain a quality work/life balance. This week, over 650 Volkswagen Chattanooga employees signed a petition requesting that workers be allowed to choose for ourselves whether to use our PTO benefit or no-pay-no-penalty for the upcoming plant shutdown, July 5-8. Members of UAW Local 42’s Voluntary Organizing Committee additionally signed a letter to management (below) in support of this worker initiated petition.

Thanks to every Volkswagen employee who helped to circulate this petition, and to every worker who added your name. We know that when we join together as fellow workers, we can have a voice in the decisions that impact our work and our lives.
